Isabella Rossellini to Personify Silversea
With great fanfare, Silversea announced internationally renowned actress, model and author Isabella Rossellini to be our first-ever Ambassador at a gala event aboard Silver Whisper on October 8th in New York City. Celebrated for her timeless beauty, Ms. Rossellini will soon appear in Silversea's print ads and brochures, as seen through the lens of Fabrizio Ferri, acclaimed photographer of Vanity Fair and Vogue. Her daughter Elettra Wiedemann, a model in her own right, will occasionally join Ms. Rossellini on her cruises.
"We asked Isabella because she is the ideal personification of Silversea's exclusive standard of elegance, glamour and sophistication," said Barbara Muckermann, Silversea's Senior Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Communications. "Being Swedish and Italian — and living in New York — she is especially qualified to represent Silversea's international flavor and Italian heritage."
During her travels with us, Isabella will become part of our family, making her 'home away from home' aboard each ship in a suite to be renamed The Rossellini Suite, which she will personally customize and refurbish.
Enhancements to Reassurance Program
Lower Cost and Greater Flexibility
Silversea Cruises has enhanced its Reassurance Program while reducing the cost. The innovative cancellation option was originally introduced in 2001 and was the first cruise-line program to allow travelers to alter their travel plans at the last minute for any reason without being penalized.
Guests who purchase Silversea’s Reassurance Program will continue to enjoy the freedom to change travel plans within the critical 1-14 days prior to sailing without penalty. Instead of losing 100% of the air/sea or cruise-only fare, guests receive a 100% Reassurance Cruise Credit toward a future cruise. The enhanced program now allows cruise credits to be applied to future cruises after deducting other published savings from the fare.
"Silversea was at the forefront of the industry when we developed our Reassurance Program to give guests more flexibility in making travel plans," said Bill Leiber, Silversea’s Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing. "We are seeing that people want to travel, but they still have a certain level of concern about the uncertainty in world events, so they want the option to cancel with ease and without penalty. Therefore, we have taken the initiative to further refine the program and make it as affordable and user-friendly as possible."
Leiber added, "The Reassurance Program is a great tool for travel agents who will earn commission on the program, plus retain their full cruise commission if their client chooses to cancel for any reason, as 100% of the cancellation penalty is protected. In effect, the program provides peace of mind for both the travel agent and client."
